using the pen tool
Okay, in this tutorial, I will try my best to explain how to use the pen tool and you will make
an interesting curved line using this tool.
Directions:
1) Open up a document. This could be a picture, a design, anything, even a new document at any width, and at any height.
File > New. (any width, any height)
or
File > Open. (any picture, design, whatever.)

2) Now click on the brush tool.

3) Open your brushes platlette, or whatever it's called. Its that thing that you open to choose the type of brush. Make sure you have the one selected in the image. Its a hard round brush. You can also choose soft. Whatever floats your boat :). Make sure that you change the size of the brush to 1 px.
Click to view brush settings menu
4) Now apply your settings when you choose the correct type of brush.

5) Now, once you have done that, click on the pen tool. View image as shown. The pen tool is selected in green.
Click to view Pen Tool Bar settings
6) Next, have the pen toolbar settings set as shown. All are selected in green.
7) Now, make sure you choose a color that you enjoy. I chose a green shade. Hex code: #0D6300

8) Then click anywhere on your image, as the starting point of the curved line.

9) Then click, again, anywhere else on your image, (or canvas) [canvas: the canvas is your entire workspace], keep your mouse clicked when you have clicked your second point.

10) Now drag that point to make it a curved line. Drag it in all diagonal directions to see what suits you best. You need common sense for this.

11) After that, you can make as many points as you wish, then drag, to make a curve. Just make sure that they are curved correctly and smoothly. I reccommend about 2-4 points and curves for good results. This is really hard to explain, since i cant really..show you...in person. Refer to the image to interpret yourself.

12) Now all you have to do is right click, with your pen tool, and select: "Stroke Path."

13) Now, basically, this sums up the use of the brilliant uses of the pen tool. Its not really an "effect," but they come eye-attracting to many people. Look at the image for my final result. Oh, and please ignore the thing that intersects the curved line. Weird things happened :). Oh, and when you put "Stroke Path," and then it stokes, press the "delete" multiple times to clear the stoke path, the your line is visible.

After time of editing, i changed my background color layer to black, so the green lines can "glow" and stand out more. Then i made some more lines. and added a few effects together so it can "glow" even more. I hope you understood this tutorial x_x. If you need any help. feel free to contact for any questions or comments.
TIPS:
1) To make the line "glow," heres what you must do:
Duplicate the curved line layer, then go to...
Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur, with the radis of 4.
After that, duplicate that blurred layer about 5 times to it can give some more glow.
2) When you are ready to "Stroke your Path," the "simulate pressure" selection is NOT necessary. It fades the line too much. So, what I normally do is just stoke it normally, without the "simulate pressure" button checked, then fade the two ends of the curved line with the eraser tool at a flow of about 25, and a round, soft, brush the size of about 100.
