Using Textures
To me, textures are everything, they make your images so much better than just a regular one. And it adds new colors, effects, and interesting points to any layout or graphic:
Here's my image, just a boring blend so far:
Now I'm going to choose a texture. You can get textures from this site or links to textures sites here.
I've chosen this texture:
Now paste the texture on top of your original image. Go to your layers window and at the drop down menu that says "normal" choose overlay.
Now my image looks like this:
spiffy ain't it?
You can do this more than once if you're not happy with the first texture you can add another one. I picked this one to brighten the image:
Repeat the process you did before by going to your layers window and choosing overlay. Here's what i got:
You can also choose other blend modes like soft light or multiply for different effects.
